COASTAL ARTISTE IDOLIZING BONGO FLAVA NOW GOING AFTER THE BONGO MOVIE STAR ROSE NDAUKA

Word going round is that Coastal music is alien, in a sense that it gets so frustrating to make it go beyond borders, let alone provisional borders but national borders too. Why? (Not that I have an answer but let me try to give a justified one) Because, so much of the coastal music is a copy and paste kinda music, 'we're going to sing like the Tanzanians' 'we're going to sing like the nigerians' or 'let's us be soft Gangsters and sing trap music' At the end of the day, we are left to listen to our own music with media playing imported content, well, that's a debate for another day.

Let's narrow down to Malindi, a northern coast town in Kilifi county. Whenever I say Malindi I picture the 'wazungu' (Whites), the five star hotels, the polished night clubs, the ultimate 'Las Vegas' but I also picture the arts, acrobats, sculpture and so many many other things that could flood my page if I keep on going.

Intoducing SHUFX DA LION, an artiste from Malindi who claims to be Rose Ndauka's lover (Was that too fast to comprehend?, allow me to slow down) Who is Shufx Da Lion? Apart from the artiste part and his home town of course, Ahmed Shuffin as his birth names, is the guy responsible for hits like:

• Sema na Moyo

• Tafarani

• Juu Juu

• Ringa (set for release mid-march)

Amongst other songs, all available on youtube. 

Rose is quiet a big deal by the way, if you are a bongo movie fan or hail from the Swahili nation Tanzania. She debuted in SWAHIBA starring as Aisha, a movie that was ranked the best film of the year by CLOUDS FM in 2007. Then came MAHABUBA and SOLEMBA, from that point on, Rose was a star in the making, she featured in DECEPTION as a lead act with THE LATE STEVEN KANUMBA then LOST ADAM with another bongo movie star JACOB STEVEN. In 2010, Rose started her own company NDAUKA ENTERTAINMENT, producing RWANDA BAADA YA VITA, BAD GIRL and THE DIARY. Impressive? Wait till you see her, here is a photo of Rose at her prime. 

Now, SHUFX DA LION claims that Rose is her lover, he has been making numerous trips to Tanzania, purportedly for musical affairs but then, non of his Tanzanian music trips have bore even a single release. Could it be that he goes to see his lover? Only time will tell.
