Music and politics are in essence about communication. Without over-stretching the analogy I do feel a sense of rhythm is important in getting your message across ~ Charles Kennedy. Bob Marley has had several quotes on music and politics for instance "How many rivers do we have to cross, before we can talk to the boss?" - Burnin' and Lootin' Well, am not Sure how many rivers the coastal artists had to cross but they finally talked to the boss last Wednesday on 26th July 2017.
The MOMBASA MUSICIAN CLUB in conjuction with other several organisations like COAST ARTISTS & ENTERTAINERS UNITED made it possible for coast artists to meet Hon.Ali Hassan Joho, the governor of Mombasa at Little Theatre to air their plights.

A lot was said and noted down, how
I wish I could write all that down but am going to just peruse through (Si wajua nataka fikia hapo kwa Chris Brown, Yooow na Pozze) Haya baas, They advocated for Jumba la sanaa, NHIF for artists, waivers on banners and performance grounds, reduced taxes on imported musical instruments and many others, nkiendelea simalizi leo.

An issue that burnt most artists but did not say it was the one of importing artists & paying them handsomely yet they have no vote. Hon.Joho addressed this and went to an extent of even inviting Ali Kiba & Willy Paul to say it all. Apparently, Kiba & Pozze are doing it voluntarily. Yes, bure bilashi & he urged the coastal artists to adopt the same. He went ahead and adopted several upcoming artists to his campaign convoy (This is the part where you say wow). Yaani 'Joho tena' should echo on your mind paka aingie, i mean, this guy mingled with everyone, you could hardly notice a bodyguard. Imagine alitoa paka fare yaani bila kuambiwa. This is the guy for mombasa.

Chris Brown was here, word out there is that Nicki Minaj is also coming. The alledged Ksh 90M did not come out of City County's budget nor Joho's pocket, all he had to do was to make it easier for event organisers to have an event that puts Mombasa on the world map and he did just that and is still going to do it again.
